Sound Familiar?

Fascia is the board that runs along your roof edge, plus the barge boards on your gables and the trim around windows and doors, and it takes the worst of our coastal weather. Once the paint fails, rain gets into the wood, the rot spreads to the rafter ends behind it, and the gutters start pulling away. Caught early it’s often a simple fix; ignored, it becomes structural.

Any of these mean your roofline is worth a look:

  • Paint peeling or flaking along the boards under the roof edge
  • Wood that feels soft or spongy when you press on it
  • Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house
  • Dark streaks or water stains running down the fascia board
  • Rot in the barge boards on your gables, or the trim around windows, doors, and columns
  • Birds, wasps, or squirrels getting in under the roofline
  • Visible cracks or rot at the corners and joints

What’s Included

Roofline inspection

We check the full run: eave fascia, barge boards and rake edges, soffit, and the rafter ends behind them, and photograph any rot we find.

Like-for-like replacement

Rotten boards are cut out and replaced with new, properly primed and painted wood that matches the original, whether that’s the eaves, the gables, or the trim around your windows and doors.

Fix the cause

Rot always has a source. We repair the flashing, drip edge, gutter, or hidden gutter that let the water in, and add baffles or flashings where they will stop it happening again.

Straight quote

We inspect first and give you a written quote before any work starts. Many fascia repairs are smaller and cheaper than homeowners expect. You’ll never get a surprise bill.

Why Trust Us With Your Roofline

Red Seal-led crews

Fascia and rafter-end repairs are carpentry. Every job is led by a Red Seal-certified carpenter, the highest trade credential in Canada.

We fix the water problem too

Flashing, gutter, and hidden gutter repairs are part of the job, so the new wood stays dry. Want it capped in aluminum as well? Available as an add-on, but most jobs don’t need it.

Honest first

If your fascia can safely wait a few more seasons, we’ll tell you that too.

Common Questions

What is fascia, and why does it matter?
Fascia is the horizontal board that runs along your roof edge, and the same trim also runs up the gables as barge boards and around your windows, doors, and columns. It caps the rafter ends, carries the gutters, and seals the roofline against rain and pests. When it fails, water gets at the structure of the roof itself, which is why a cosmetic problem is worth fixing early.
Do you cover it in aluminum, or replace the wood?
We replace the wood, like for like, and fix whatever let the water in so it stays dry. Aluminum fascia cover is available as an add-on if you want it, but only about one in ten of our fascia jobs actually needs it. Capping over rotten wood without fixing the cause just hides the problem while it spreads.
Do the gutters have to come off?
Only sometimes. If the rotten fascia is at the eaves behind an external gutter, the gutter comes off and goes back on, and if it is old we can quote a replacement at the same time. Barge boards, window and door trim, and homes with hidden gutters usually need no gutter removal at all.
How long does the work take?
Anywhere from a few hours for a single rotten board to 2 or 3 days for a full roofline. We protect the landscaping, clean up daily, and haul away all the old material.
What does fascia repair cost?
Often less than people expect. A lot of fascia jobs are a simple repair of one or two boards plus the flashing that failed, not a full replacement. Every job is quoted in writing from an inspection, not a guess over the phone.

Fix the Roofline Before the Rot Spreads

Rotten fascia lets water at the rafter ends that hold up your roof: replacing a board now is far cheaper than structural repair later.
