Surface, structure,
and the details between.

The surface is what you see — the framing, flashing and drainage underneath are what decide whether it’s still solid in 20 years.

Composite & PVC

Trex, TimberTech, Deckorators — no staining, no splinters, 25–50 year warranties. The right call for most busy households.

Cedar

The classic. Warm underfoot, beautiful when maintained, and the budget-friendly way to get a premium look — with honest maintenance expectations.

Vinyl membrane

Waterproof decking that doubles as a roof — the answer over living space or for dry storage underneath.

Railings & stairs

Aluminum, glass, or matched composite — all engineered to code, because railings are where DIY decks fail inspection.

Common questions

Questions homeowners
ask us most.

Do I need a permit for a deck?
Usually yes above 24″ in most Lower Mainland municipalities. We handle drawings, application and inspections as part of the project.
Composite or cedar — honestly?
Composite costs more upfront and nothing after; cedar costs less and asks for a wash and re-stain every couple of years. Busy family? Composite. Love the ritual and the smell? Cedar.
What are hidden fasteners?
Clips that secure boards from the side, so the surface has no screw heads — better underfoot, better looking, and no popped screws in five years.
Can you build over living space?
Yes — vinyl membrane decks are waterproof assemblies that protect the room below. That’s a different structure than a standard deck, and we build both.
How long does a deck take?
Most projects run 1–2 weeks on site once permits are in hand — footings and framing first week, surface and railings the second.
